Krystal Barter is an activist, author and founder of breast and ovarian cancer awareness/education organisation Pink Hope. She was detected to have the BRCA1 gene at an early age and she opted to undertake a preventative double mastectomy, she is also due to have ovarian prevention surgery in 2014. She has written a book called (''The Lucky One'' ) about her experiences.
